Children's Day in Athlone – June 2nd, 2025 🎉
„In every adult there’s a child that wants to play”
This quote truly came to life on Monday, June 2nd, during our joyful celebration of International Children’s Day 2025 at Drum Community Centre, Athlone. From toddlers to grandparents – everyone found a reason to smile, play, and celebrate the magic of childhood together.
The event kicked off at 1:00 PM and was packed with fun-filled activities for all ages: bouncy castles, mural painting workshops, archery sessions with the Wolfshead Company of Archers, and a truly special Polish paper-cutting workshop run by the Inisowiacy Polish Folk Group. 🎨🏹
There was also face painting by the amazing Pink Ladies Glam Van, and an exciting raffle with a brand-new Gaming PC as the top prize – huge thanks to Electro Direct – Athlone for their generous support! 🎁🎮
We are deeply grateful to all the incredible volunteers and groups who made this day possible:
💛 Midlands Polish Community
💛 Roscommon Volunteer Centre
💛 Athlone Air Soft Club
🚑 Order of Malta Ireland – Ambulance Corps – Athlone
🚒 Athlone Fire Brigade
👮 Athlone Community Garda
💛 Declan Killeen from the Engineering Corps, Athlone Army Barrack
Thank you for your time, energy, and commitment – without you, this celebration wouldn’t have been the same. ❤️
This event was proudly supported by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth through the Community Integration Fund.
See you all next year – let’s keep the child in us alive! 🎈👧👦
